PA Polyamide sheets are semi-crystalline polymers with good mechanical properties. Its features include extreme durability, excellent slipperiness and wear resistance. The most commonly used varieties of PA Polyamide are PA 66, PA 6, PA 11, PA 12. It varies from the particularly hard, durable PA 66 variety to the soft and flexible PA 12 variety. Depending on the type, polyamides absorb moisture at different rates, which affects their mechanical properties and dimensional stability.
Martan Plastik, while doing wholesale and retail sales of PA Polyamide sheet domestic and European origin products, turns your designs into reality with high-tech milling and lathe machines. Please call us for more detailed information.
PA 66 Polyamide
PA 66 has very good adhesion, easy welding, electrical isolation ability and good machining properties.
PA 6 Polyamide
PA 6 has high durability. It is strong against impacts and has good chemical resistance.
PA 11 Polyamide
PA 11 Polyamide has a very high degree of hardness. In addition to good slipperiness and friction ability, it has bio-based minimum water absorption.
PA 11 Polyamide
It has very high impact strength and minimum water absorption.
PA 66 Polyamide
The two most common grades of polyamide used so far are PA6 and PA66.The remaining members of the polyamide family are used primarily in applications requiring tolerance of unusually high service temperatures or moist conditions.Bio-based and transparent (amorphous) PA grades are also available. In machine design, PA is often reinforced with glass or – even in demanding applications – carbon fibre.Reinforcement significantly changes the properties and applications of the material and that is why I will write a separate article on it.This article focuses on unfilled PA6 and PA66.
PA66 compared to PA6
Absorbs slightly less moisture
higher modulus
Better wear resistance
Better short-term heat resistance
PA6 compared to PA66
Better long-term heat resistance
Better impact resistance at low temperatures
Better surface quality
Better creep resistance
Better UV resistance (depends on modification)
less cost
